Washington State BPA bill resuscitated
The Washington State legislation that would prevent the use of bisphenol A (BPA) in baby bottles and sippy cups has been rescued by Senate leadership, just one day after the bill was thought to be dead.
One member of the Senate had blocked the bill from moving through committee.
But Senate Majority leader, Lisa Brown, and the bill's sponsor, Senator Karen Keiser, used procedural powers to move the bill and keep it alive.
The bill will face an upcoming floor vote and must pass by April 26, when the Washington State legislative session ends.
"This is great news! We're thrilled the Senate hasn't closed the door on taking action on this important children's health measure," said Ivy Sager-Rosenthal, campaign director for the Washington Toxics Coalition.

Great work Washington! Hopefully we can get some state laws passed soon. It's great to see lawmakers taking leadership on such important issues.
