The Safer Cans campaign is working (on Coke)

Safer CansThis summer, Safer States, along with coalition partners that include Clean New York, Coalition for a Safe and Healthy Connecticut, Ecology Center, Environmental Health Strategy Center, Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy, SafeMama, and Washington Toxics Coalition, launched the Safer Cans campaign.

Our goal is to persuade the canning industry to stop using bisphenol A and invest in safer alternatives to protect the food supply.  Safer Cans and the Environmental Working Group have been encouraging people to call Coca-Cola and demand BPA be removed from their cans.  Here’s a clip of us calling Coke:

Last month, Coca-Cola executives announced they were rejecting industry “fear tactics” and sat down with EWG, demonstrating the effectiveness of this grassroots effort.
