New York counties continue to ban BPA

Posted by Safer States on Aug 12, 2009

New York Counties Two more New York counties have banned bisphenol A (BPA) from children’s beverage containers, following the lead of Suffolk County, NY, which was the first jurisdiction in the country to pass such a ban back in March.

On Monday, Albany County passed a BPA ban and on Tuesday Schenectady County passed a ban as well.

Both bans were passed unanimously, with legislators calling the move an important one to protect the health of residents. In addition to the three county bans in New York, statewide BPA bans have passed in Minnesota and Connecticut.
